the pilgrimage

For the last two years I have traveled extensively developing new art in Peru and Mexico. I have primarily exchanged artwork for accommodations and the privilege of learning about unique cultures through immersion. I've painted nine murals and many studio pieces as I have assimilated new information and ways of knowing.

During this time I also began a project  to connect classrooms in the Andes with those in Appalachia. The goal is to help young people in rural mountainous communities to transcend language barriers via the arts, forming lasting international friendships and broader worldviews. If you are interested in being part of this growing project, please reach out.

East Tennessee Artscapes

Since 2016, I have worked with a group of friends who are committed  to using the the arts as a vehicle to bring transformation to our small Appalachian community. We aim to provide opportunities for youth and adults to participate in the arts in ways that in that serve to improve social, economic, and environmental conditions. We create public art, operate after school programs, facilitate adult workshops for painting, writing, and dance and provide entrepreneurial resources. Follow the link below to find out more or get involved.
